Training Dates

We are pleased to inform you that the Memories in the Making® Program (MIM)is growing nationwide, and with this comes many inquiries regarding the program and how individuals can become more involved in this powerful activity for persons with dementia.

We welcome you to become more involved by creating a program in your area or becoming a facilitator.  The registered trademark, held by the Orange County Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, is gaining recognition throughout the country and is recognized as a quality activity for persons with dementia by facilitators who have been formally trained.  We are committed to the integrity of the program and require individuals to be trained in the Memories in the Making technique.  This is not an arts and crafts program nor is it art therapy, but rather a communication tool.

Your Alzheimer’s Association Chapter may already offer the Memories in the Making program or you may desire to begin a program and are invited to attend one of Orange County’s quarterly trainings held at the chapter office. If you wish to have training in your area, you may contact our Orange County National Memories in the Making® Consultant, La Doris‘Sam’ Heinly. Sam provides training for a fee throughout the country.

In 2011, a new national training manual was released and is also now available.  Click Here to see the Training Manual
